designed by Louisa Harding

I made this fun lace poncho with size 7 needles and 1,024 yards of Wool-Ease worsted weight yarn in Forest Heather.

This poncho was love at first sight. :)
I made the medium size, but a bit smaller: 15 fewer sts in the plain st section, and a total of 12 reps of the leaf pattern. The finished poncho measures 24” from shoulder to bottom of leaf edging.
My lace leaf edge turned out a little riffly, which I like heaps.
I was concerned that it would be too long if I followed the pattern exactly, but the next time I make this poncho, I will go with a light gray wool worsted and make it full length.

Mogul Hat Pattern
designed by Gabrielle Danskknit

Lovely, warm hat with two cable designs. I cast on with size 5 needles for the rolled brim, because I’m a loose knitter, and I switched to size 8 needles for the rest of the hat. The finished hat fits my 22” head perfectly.  Stash worsted weight yarn.
The pattern was well written and easy to follow. The crown decreases are designed perfectly around the cables.

Drea's Shawl -- Free Knitting Pattern

designed by Craig Rosenfeld

I  made my shawl larger. Pre-blocking: 56” by 22”. After blocking: 64” x 24”. The extra length makes it easier to wrap, fold, tie, etc.
I used some elann fingering weight yarn from my stash. When I ran out of the blue/white/peach multi, I finished up with a 6” border in the solid light blue.
Size 5 needles.
A total of 572 yards of fingering weight yarn: 229 yards in blue/white/peach and 343 yards in light blue.
The colors make me happy…like a sunny day at the beach.
